Kings Highway Restorative Dentist
The best way to preserve your teeth for a lifetime is to try and prevent any decay and other harmful conditions from causing damage to them. At A Plus Dental our doctor stresses preventative care through a program of daily at-home dental care and regular in-office checkups and dental cleanings. Even with the most diligent of preventative care sometimes teeth need the skill of our
Kings Highway restorative dentist to treat decay or infections or trauma due to an injury. Sometimes we even need to replace a patient’s lost tooth or several teeth because they could not be saved through ordinary restoration methods or were already gone when the patient first came to our office.
Our
Kings Highway restorative dentist has several different techniques for treating teeth that are chipped, cracked, stained or has some decay. Our state-of-the-art equipped office uses the latest in dental technology and techniques to restore the appearance and function of our patient’s teeth. Our doctor often uses fillings, crowns, endodontic treatments and periodontal treatments to restore teeth depending on the condition of the tooth. One common treatment we employ is the use of a dental veneer. A veneer is a thin sheet of tooth-colored material, usually porcelain that is placed over the front of the tooth. Veneers are used to cover thin cracks or chips to prevent them from spreading and letting bacteria into the tooth. Our doctor also uses veneers to cover a stained or discolored tooth matching the color to that of the adjacent teeth. Veneers are a very successful and conservative approach to restoration because they can be applied to the tooth without removing much or any of the tooth’s material. A series of veneers is a quick and long-lasting method of whitening teeth as well.
Our
Kings Highway restorative dentist often uses bridges as one method of replacing missing teeth. A bridge is an artificial tooth in a gum-like base that is placed between two existing teeth. Bridges can be used to replace one tooth, several teeth or a whole jaw full of teeth. Partial bridges are used for a single tooth or a few teeth while dentures replace a full set of teeth on the upper or lower jaws. Our practices uses both fixed bridges, which are affixed to two adjacent teeth using crowns on those teeth and suspending the artificial teeth between them or removable bridges that rest on the gums secured by either paste adhesive or clips. Removable bridges are removed several times a day for cleaning. Whatever the state of your mouth our practice can help you keep your teeth in tip-top shape and restore them if something does happen, so call for an appointment today.
